A Brick Walkway in Cary
A side-yard walkway for a Broadleaf customer in Cary, North Carolina, finished in summer 2026: dug out, laid in brick with a border course on each edge, and closed in with new beds and shrubs.
Start to Finish
Three Points in the Build
The same run, photographed from the same end each time.
What the Job Involved
- The run dug out to subgrade
- Brick pavers staged along both sides, where they would be laid
- The walk laid with a border course holding each edge
- The run cut in against the existing concrete at the bottom
- Beds cut, mulched and planted with new shrubs along both sides
The beds were part of the job, not an afterthought: closing them in is what makes the walk read as part of the property rather than something set down on top of it.
Planning Something Similar?
Walkways, patios, steps and walls are part of Broadleaf’s Construction & Enhancements work, and each starts with a walkthrough and a written scope. For Cary’s soils and what we look at there, see landscaping in Cary. More work is in the gallery.
