This page is a plain-language summary. The warranty that applies to your work is the one written in your proposal, service agreement and the Broadleaf Master Landscape Services Agreement. Where this summary and those documents differ, those documents control. Ask us for a copy at any time.
We warrant our workmanship as set out in your contract documents. We do not guarantee conditions or outcomes beyond our reasonable control — a landscape is a living environment affected by weather, water, soil, drainage, insects, disease, wildlife, growth, aging and use.
Plants are living material and no plant can be guaranteed indefinitely. Where a plant warranty applies, it runs for the period stated in your proposal or warranty document.
To keep it in force, you provide proper irrigation and care, follow our instructions, stay current on payment, report concerns promptly, and give us reasonable access to inspect.
It does not cover loss or decline caused by drought, freeze, excessive rainfall, flooding, storms, irrigation failure, improper watering, disease, insects, wildlife, pets, chemicals, vandalism, neglect, transplant shock beyond normal expectations, work by others, or anything else outside our reasonable control.
During the warranty period you may use the plant replacement warranty once for that installation. You identify everything you believe has failed at that time, and all approved replacements are completed in one scheduled visit.
Once that visit is done, the plant replacement warranty for that installation is fulfilled and closed. Plants first reported afterwards are not eligible, even if time remains in the original period, and replacement plants do not carry a new warranty.
Unless establishment care is expressly included in your scope, watering after installation is your responsibility. We do not warrant damage or failure caused by improper watering, irrigation failure, erosion, washout, pets, traffic, extreme weather, disease, insects or wildlife.
Minor variation in color, texture, dimension, joint and surface is normal in masonry, concrete, pavers and stone. Efflorescence, natural weathering, minor settlement and ordinary change from age or exposure are not, by themselves, defective workmanship.
We are not responsible for movement or failure caused by unstable underlying soil, hidden fill, groundwater, concealed conditions, extraordinary weather, changes in drainage, abuse, or work performed by others.
We do not warrant materials, plants, fixtures or equipment supplied by you or another party. Where we install them, any warranty covers our installation workmanship only. Removal, replacement or extra labour caused by a defect in those materials is additional work.
Warranty coverage is conditional on full and final payment. No claim is processed, inspected or honoured while a balance on the applicable work is unpaid, and coverage does not begin until final payment has cleared.
A delay in payment does not extend or restart the warranty period, and payment after the period has expired does not revive coverage.
Tell us within the warranty period, as soon as you notice something you believe is covered. Give us reasonable access and a fair opportunity to inspect and, where it is covered, to put it right.
Please come to us before bringing in another contractor. Except where immediate action is genuinely needed to prevent property damage or protect safety, we cannot reimburse work done by someone else without that opportunity — and an unauthorized repair can void coverage on the affected work where it prevents us determining the cause.
Warranty does not apply to failure or damage caused by alteration, relocation, repair, modification, improper maintenance, grading or irrigation changes, construction or excavation carried out after our work by you or anyone else.
Where we determine work is covered, we decide the reasonable method of repair, correction or replacement. Except where the law requires otherwise, our obligation is to correct the covered work — it does not extend to unrelated improvements, upgrades, consequential losses, or work outside the original scope.
Warranty periods vary with the work and are stated in your proposal. If anything here matters to your decision, ask before you sign — call (252) 966-8387 or email info@broadleaflandco.com.
