After more than 25 years in the landscape industry in the Southwest, founder Tom Tessier moved to North Carolina and started Broadleaf Landscape Company with a simple idea: build the kind of company he would want caring for his own property.
That means showing up, communicating clearly, taking pride in the details, and building relationships that last.
Today, Broadleaf serves residential and commercial properties throughout the Triangle and surrounding communities through three dedicated divisions: Landscape Maintenance, Construction & Enhancements, and Property Policing.

Experience is easy to claim and hard to show. Here is what it means on a Tuesday morning.
It means knowing that a lawn around here is usually fescue or bermuda, and that the two grow at opposite ends of the year — so the right mowing schedule depends on which one you have rather than on the calendar. It means recognizing heavy clay before it turns into a drainage problem, because water moved away from a foundation costs a fraction of what water sitting against one eventually will.
It means knowing which plants come through a Carolina August and which ones only look good on the day they go in. And it means having built enough patios and walls to know that nearly every failure traces back to the base rather than the surface — which is why we spend money down there, where nobody will ever see it.
Twenty-five years does not make anyone infallible. What it does is shorten the list of surprises, and surprises are what cost you money.

Certified by NDS, a manufacturer of the catch basins, channel drains and fittings this work is built from. Drainage is the part of a property that is hardest to see and most expensive to get wrong, which is reason enough to be trained on it.

What you can expect.
The estimate is free and clearly written. We walk the property with you, listen to what has actually been bothering you, and prepare a detailed scope and price so you can make an informed decision without pressure.
We will tell you when something is not worth doing. Sometimes the honest answer is that a bed needs edging rather than replanting, or that a drainage complaint is really a gutter. Saying so costs us the job in front of us and earns the next three.
The warranty is in plain language. It is written to be read rather than to be survived, and it is on its own page where you can read it before you commit to anything.
We come back. Most of our work is for people we have already worked for. That only happens if the second visit is as good as the first, which is the entire reason we are careful about the first.

Meet Scout.
Scout is a Plott Hound, the official state dog of North Carolina and the proud mascot of Broadleaf Landscape Company.
The breed originated in the North Carolina mountains, where it was developed for stamina, courage and grit. Plott Hounds are also known for being loyal, steady and dependable—the same qualities we want people to associate with Broadleaf.
